I started my IT journey the day I took the side panel off my computer when I was 10 years old. Once I got my eyes on the inside of a computer I was fascinated. I couldn't not figure out how computers work.
My support career started in elementary school providing support to my teachers. I still remember the first time I fixed the projector in class by re arranging the cables. Or spending a rainy recess inside cable managing the AV cart.
Moving into high school my homeroom class was on speed dial for support requests. I spent the later years in computer classes, learning PC troubleshooting, programming, system support, robotics and microelectronics. During this time I stood out and was supported; I was given a Dell Power edge server that I learned how to create virtual machines, virtual networking and server administration.
Once I moved to college, I was making waves inside my classes, getting elected as student class rep, creating and managing the “Computer systems club”. I provided a space for computer nerds a place to be themselves, opening the doors to explore technology and create lasting connections. As class rep I heard and championed student needs and managed the relation between students and the school.
For the entirety of my life, I have been tinkering. Trying new things, learning new technology and providing tech support for the people in my life.
